Note: RustSeal is not intended for use as a final finish. Repeated or prolonged exposure to direct UV light will cause cosmetic alteration to its color and sheen. RustSeal’s guaranteed rust protective properties, however, will not degrade. In areas not exposed to direct UV light, like the underside of a car, RustSeal will seal as well as serve as a great looking final finish. To protect against unwanted cosmetic changes, topcoat RustSeal with any opaque (solid color) paint system. Please note that a clear topcoat cannot provide the needed UV protection. Choose the closest color associated RustSeal primer to compliment your topcoat and protect against potential visible surface chips.

Need A Long Term Storage Solution for RustSeal?
RustSeal Coverage
Theoretical coverage at 2 mils dry film thickness is 400 sq.ft. per gallon.
Recommended thickness of at least 4-5 mils dry film thickness requires at least two full coats.
For marine type applications or applications where the surface is consistently exposed to water, at least three coats is recommended.
Material losses during mixing and application will vary and must be taken into consideration. Please expect up to 30-40% less coverage on bare wood, rough, or sandblasted surfaces.
- 8oz of RustSeal will cover 12.5 sq. ft. with 2 coats.
- A Pint of RustSeal will cover 25 sq. ft. with 2 coats.
- A Quart of RustSeal will cover 50 sq. ft. with 2 coats.
- A Gallon of RustSeal will cover 200 sq. ft. with 2 coats.
- A 5 Gallon Pail of RustSeal will cover 1000 sq. ft. with 2 coats.
